John Lodge, the singer and bass guitarist for Moody Blues, has died at 82 years old.
In a statement obtained byFox Newson Friday, Lodge’s family said that he died “suddenly and unexpectedly.” The family added that Lodge “peacefully slipped away surrounded by his loved ones and the sounds of The Everly Brothers and Buddy Holly.”

John Lodge joined the British rock band Moody Blues in 1966 and stayed with the band until they stopped performing live in 2018.
The singer and bassist was featured on some of the group’s famous hits, including the 1967 album “Days Of Future Passed,” which is considered by some as one of rock’s first concept albums, and its follow-up a year later, “In Search Of The Lost Chord.”

According to the Associated Press, Lodge was also featured on the 1977 album “Octave,” and he continued to make records with Moody Blues until their final studio album in 2003, “December,” a collection of Christmas songs.
Moody Blues continued to perform live until 2018, the same year the band was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.
Lodge is survived by his wife, Kirsten, whom he married in 1968, and the couple had two children, Emily and Kristian,FOX News reported.
