The feature film “In Our Blood,” shot entirely in Las Cruces, will premiere at Allen Theaters Cineport 10 on Oct. 17.
Directed by Oscar-nominated documentary filmmaker Pedro Kos, the film marks his first narrative feature. It blends psychological mystery with horror, weaving a tale about confronting past ghosts and societal complicity, according to a community announcement.
The story follows filmmaker Emily Wyland, played by Brittany O’Grady, and cinematographer Danny, played by E. J. Bonilla, as they shoot a documentary about reuniting with Emily’s estranged mother. When her mother goes missing, Emily and Danny must piece together clues to find her.
‘In Our Blood,’ filmed entirely in Las Cruces, will screen at 7 p.m. on Oct. 17 at Allen Theaters Cineport 10.
Las Cruces welcomes film production
“The community was happy to welcome In Our Blood production to our city,” Film Las Cruces film liaison Andrew Jara said. “They utilized so much of our diverse locations and wonderful crew, and you can see all that great work on the screen.”
Film Las Cruces has coordinated with Utopia Distribution for the special screening. Residents in Doña Ana County will have a chance to see the film before its official release. Seats are limited and will be prioritized for locals who worked on or assisted with the film production.
“We’re thrilled to welcome the In Our Blood production team back to Las Cruces to celebrate the premiere of their film,” Film Las Cruces President Jeff Steinborn said. “Las Cruces is all about film and filmmakers — once you make a movie here, you’re part of our community.”
The premiere event will include a post-screening Q&A with Kos, cast members Bonilla and Krisha Fairchild, and producers Aaron Kogan and Steven Klein.
The screening will take place at 7 p.m. at Allen Theaters Cineport 10, 700 S. Telshor Blvd.
