Jamie Bell, Cosmo Jarvis, Thomasin McKenzie Join Andrew Garfield in Paul Greengrass’ ‘The Uprising’

Jamie Bell, Cosmo Jarvis and Thomasin McKenzie will travel back to 14th century England for Paul Greengrass’ “The Uprising.” The historical epic is set during the Peasants’ Revolt and stars the previously announced Andrew Garfield. Focus Features will distribute “The Uprising” domestically. The cast also includes Jonny Lee Miller and Woody Norman.

Garfield will star as the leader of a dramatic rebellion against King Richard II. The uprising took place in the aftermath of the Black Death, as the king was levying higher taxes to fund the Hundred Years’ War. Katherine Waterston was previously announced as joining the cast as well.

Bell’s credits include “All Of Us Strangers” and “Undertow.” Jarvis starred in the streaming sensation, “Shogun.” McKenzie appeared in “Jojo Rabbit” and “Last Night in Soho.” Miller’s work includes “Elementary” and “Trainspotting.” Norman’s IMDb includes “Sukkwan Island” and “C’mon C’mon.”
