Brothers Alec and Stephen Baldwin were involved in a car crash on in East Hampton, New York, on Monday.
According to TMZ, Alec Baldwin, 67, was driving a white Range Rover SUV with Stephen, 59, in the passenger seat when struck the vehicle struck a tree head-on.
Photos taken at the scene show the front end of the SUV as severely damaged.
The brothers spoke to police on the scene and both appeared to not have any serious, visible injuries.
The pair were reportedly in town for the Hamptons International Film Festival, which ran from Oct. 5-13.
In a video later shared to Instagram, Alec Baldwin said that he hit the tree in order to avoid hitting a garbage truck “the size of a whale.”
“It must have been something commercial, like taking away material from construction or something. It was the biggest garbage truck I’ve ever seen,” he said. “To avoid hitting him, I hit a tree, I hit a big, fat tree.”
Baldwin said his brother are both fine, but that he crushed his wife’s SUV in the accident.
Baldwin also thanked local police officers that responded to the crash, adding that he next plans to go to Los Angeles to spend time with his family.
A representative for Stephen Baldwin told TMZ that the actor is “doing fine and is grateful no one was injured. He appreciates the concern and he can confirm that he and Alec are both safe and well.”
