The final nail in the ducal coffin is surely new revelations that Fergie too “kept in touch with” Epstein after publicly disavowing him. To recap, the Duchess said in 2011: “I cannot state more strongly that I know a terrible, terrible error of judgment was made, my having anything to do with Jeffrey Epstein.”

The Duchess has admitted to pocketing £15,000, but Lownie says a mutual friend of the Yorks and Epstein’s claims, “Sarah has actually received hundreds of thousands of dollars.”
