Have that Halloween get-up ready?
Better hurry because the 10/31 Consortium’s annual Fifolet Halloween Festival & Parade is two weeks early this year, happening on Saturday in downtown Baton Rouge.
Costumes, floats, bands and dance krewes will fill the parade route at 4 p.m. Saturday. As in past years, the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank truck will lead the parade, collecting food donations directly from the crowd.
The parade starts at Government at St. Philip streets, traveling along River Road, turning right on Convention Street, left on North Seventh Street, left on Main Street, left on North Fifth Street, right on Laurel Street ending at River Road. There are two party zones, one family zone and one no-scare zone on the route.
Other Fifolet events wrapped around the parade include:
- Halloween Ball, 8 p.m. Friday, Lod Cook LSU Alumni Center, 3838 W. Lakeshore Drive. There are costume and table decorating contests, food and drinks, and music by Petty Betty. Attire is costume or creative formal. Tickets start at $48.
- Fifolet 5K and Pumpkin Run, 9 a.m. Saturday, from Riverfront Plaza, 300 River Road. Welcome, national anthem, blessing of the festival, royal court introduction. Race fees start at $20.
- Arts Market, 10 a.m. Saturday, along Riverfront Plaza. Shop, snack and soak in the Halloween spirit.
