Beatport, which operates an online music store for DJs, producers, and fans, plans to link its marketplace with live events exclusively for the dance music sector.

The company announced the launch of Beatport Tickets on Thursday (October 16) in partnership with European ticketing technology provider Weeztix, formerly Eventix.

Beatport Tickets will allow labels, promoters, and venues in the UK and European Union to sell tickets through Beatportal, Beatport’s platform for dance music news and nightlife culture.

Beatport plans to expand the new offering to US event organizers in coming months and integrate event listings into Beatport’s main store later this year.

By 2026, upcoming shows will appear on artist and label profile pages, with direct links to purchase tickets. Event organizers will be able to attach custom playlists to ticket pages, creating what Beatport describes as previews of the music that will be featured at shows.

Helen Sartory, Chief Revenue Officer at Beatport, said: “Beatport has always been the home for DJs and fans to connect with the music that drives dance culture.”

With Beatport Tickets, we’re taking the next big step, bridging the gap between digital and live experiences, supporting promoters, helping artists expand their reach, and giving fans a richer way to engage with dance music.”

“This year, we expanded into the live space, creating a dedicated Live & Interactive team who executed ambitious initiatives like The Block, giving emerging artists opportunities to perform at major festivals. With Beatport Tickets, we’re taking the next big step, bridging the gap between digital and live experiences, supporting promoters, helping artists expand their reach, and giving fans a richer way to engage with dance music. Because without live music, there is no dance scene.”

Beatport says the move addresses the challenging economics for recorded music in the dance music industry, even as live events thrive. Independent promoters and smaller venues often lack advanced ticketing tools, while artists and labels struggle to convert online followers into concert attendees, it said.

Beatport claims its platform reaches more than 40 million annual users through its store, mobile application and Beatportal. The company has operated since 2004 as a digital retailer focused on electronic dance music, selling tracks and providing tools for DJs to organize and mix music.

Its ticketing platform will run on technology from Weeztix, which will provide infrastructure. Features include standard ticket sales, options to sell accommodation packages and merch, analytics for promoters, and API connections allowing integration with third-party services. Weeztix will provide 24/7 customer service operations.

Beatport plans to use the ticketing data to create what it calls a “360 platform” connecting music discovery, streaming, and live events.

The company also operates the Diversity + Parity Fund, which distributes $150,000 annually, and Beatport Next, an artist development program. These initiatives are part of what Beatport describes as efforts to broaden participation in electronic music.

Beatport Tickets marks the company’s latest offering for its users after teaming up with Amazon-owned Twitch last year to launch its own channel to support the DJ community.

In 2019, Beatport launched a subscription music streaming service for DJs called Beatport LINK. Prior to that, Beatport partnered with DJcity on a joint venture called Beatsource, described as a digital music retail “experience” for open format DJs.

Beatport also operates a web app called Beatport DJ, which allows users to experiment with mixing and creating content directly from their browser before they invest in expensive equipment.

For Weeztix, the partnership with Beatport follows its integration with streaming giant Spotify earlier this year. It also renewed its partnership with International Music Summit (IMS) Ibiza as the exclusive ticketing and access partner for the second straight year.
