MrBeast and IShowSpeed appeared with Terry Crews for a conference together and shared personal and emotional details about their lives. Given the fact that both of these influencers have a huge following on social media platforms such as YouTube and Instagram, it can only be assumed that it comes with a bit of negativity as well.
MrBeast and IShowSpeed share their ways of handling haters
MrBeast and IShowSpeed are big on social media, and while appearing together for a conference, they revealed how they manage the hate. Actor Terry Crews asked the creators about how they each deal with “naysayers,” or “haters” in general.
To this, IShowSpeed revealed that early in his career, he wasn’t used to the negativity of the internet, particularly on his YouTube. He then learnt that when a person is on the internet, people are going to say “whatever” they want.
According to Joy Forum, the 20-year-old explained, “You can do the best thing in the world, and somebody would still nitpick or say anything bad about that. So, what I turned to realize is, you know, you just gotta keep going. You can’t listen to it.”
Adding to what his fellow YouTube star said, MrBeast explained that the whole game is about percentage and perspective. According to him, if a video has 5 million views with 10,000 positive comments and only a hundred negative ones, then a person is on the right path.
However, most creators overlook the nice words and only focus on the criticism. This is where the problem arises. The 27-year-old urges them to “zoom out” and look at the “macro” aspects of it all.
Elaborating further on it, MrBeast said, “Best case scenario, which is easier said than done, and even I relapse, is just to not get emotional when reading it. Just look at comments as subjective feedback… Ideally, you can just turn off your emotions and internalize it.”
