The Philadelphia 76ers are making a little organizational addition to governor Josh Harris’ business, Harris & Blitzer Sports Entertainment. After 12 years with the Golden State Warriors and a short stint with ESPN, Bob Myers will join HBSE.
Myers, who led the Warriors to four championships and six trips to the finals during his tenure as GM out in The Bay, will join the company in an effort to maximize opportunities. He is also reportedly interested in bolstering portfolios that includes the New Jersey Devils of the NHL, the Sixers, Crystal Palace F.C. of the Premier League, and an investment in Joe Gibbs Racing in NASCAR.
Myers will also continue to support Josh Harris, the managing partner of the Washington Commanders.
Obviously, the Sixers are still led by Daryl Morey as their President of Basketball Operations. However, should Philadelphia get off to a slow start, one has to believe there will be whispers about his job security with Myers now with the organization.
