Joe Jonas Reacts to Ex Taylor Swift’s The Life of a Showgirl

Pop artist Joe Jonas has shared his thoughts on his ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift’s new “Life of a Showgirl” album. The singer from the popular boy band The Jonas Brothers, who revealed their setlist for their 2025 tour, had a short romance with Swift in 2008, but he hasn’t mentioned their brief fling often in recent years. So it’s rare that Jonas has given his take on Swift’s twelfth studio album, released on October 3, which has received mixed reviews from critics.

Jonas says “everyone’s got an opinion” about Swift’s new album

Jonas admits that he has heard “some” of Swift’s “Life of a Showgirl” album and has praised her latest album in a lengthy interview with Esquire.

“I think she’s obviously the biggest artist out there,” he said, “and I think it’s good. Everyone’s got an opinion about it, but from what I’ve heard, there are some catchy melodies.”

Jonas and Swift dated for a few months in 2008, with her appearing on stage with the Jonas Brothers during their Burnin’ Up tour. Their breakup became highly public, though, after Swift shared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that Jonas had called their relationship off during a 25-second call. Both artists then wrote a slew of breakup songs inspired by their rocky relationship. But in recent years the pair have become friends again, having amicable conversations at award shows and showing support for one another.

That said, Swift helped Sophie Turner, who divorced Jonas in September 2024 after about eight years of marriage. At the time of the divorce, Turner and her daughters Willa and Delphine stayed at Swift’s home in New York City. The actress shared in British Vogue that she has “never been more grateful to anyone than I am for [Swift] because she took my children and me and provided us with a home and a safe space.”
