Miley Cyrus is officially joining the cinematic universe of Avatar. The Grammy-winning singer announced that she has written and recorded an original song for James Cameron’s upcoming film, Avatar: Fire and Ash, alongside longtime collaborators Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt.
Taking to Instagram, Cyrus shared her excitement and personal connection to the project, writing: “Honored to support Avatar: Fire and Ash with an original song I’ve written with Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt. Having been personally affected by fire and being rebuilt from the ashes, this project holds profound meaning for me. Thank you, Jim, for the opportunity to turn that experience into musical medicine. The film’s themes of unity, healing, and love resonate deeply within my soul, and to be even a small star in the universe the Avatar family has created is truly a dream come true.”

The announcement instantly set social media abuzz. The song—whose title has yet to be revealed—will appear on the Avatar: Fire and Ash original soundtrack, which is expected to arrive ahead of the film’s release in December.
This isn’t the first time Miley Cyrus has contributed to a major film soundtrack. Back in 2019, she teamed up with Ariana Grande and Lana Del Rey on “Don’t Call Me Angel,” the lead single from the Charlie’s Angels soundtrack. The powerhouse collaboration debuted at No. 13 on the Billboard Hot 100, marking one of the most celebrated pop team-ups of the decade.
Cyrus’ contribution to Avatar: Fire and Ash follows the success of her latest project, Something Beautiful (Deluxe), released in September. The expanded edition features “Secrets,” a heartfelt collaboration with Lindsey Buckingham and Mick Fleetwood of Fleetwood Mac. Dedicated to her father Billy Ray Cyrus, the track has been widely praised for its emotional depth and classic rock influence.
