Ariana Grande has given fans a glimpse into NBC’s forthcoming Wicked: One Wonderful Night concert.
The Florida-born singer, 32 is slated to reprise her role as Glinda on stage during the network’s special, which is set to air on Nov. 6, just weeks before Wicked: For Good.
As anticipation builds for the live special, Ariana took to Instagram to share behind-the-scenes footage that appears to have left fans both satisfied and eager for what’s next. Alongside a carousel of 15 photos, she penned, “let us rejoicify ! the Wicked: One Wonderful Night concert airs november 6th on @nbc and streams the next day on @peacock.”
In true Glinda style, Ariana was spotted at rehearsals donning a light pink ballgown. The dress featured a ribbed bodice and tiered skirt.
She also revealed other aspects of the show, including Glinda’s bedroom set, crystal-adorned heels, and her glittering microphone.
The insider described their relationship as “more than a little toxic.”
The pair are allegedly “keeping it together for now,” with the source claiming they might break up after Wicked: For Good releases.
The couple might be ensuring history won’t repeat itself with the delay.
Just a week after the musical finished filming in July 2023, it was announced that the actress was dating Ethan, who plays Boq in the musical. Their romance quickly dominated headlines and fans started raging given the close timing to both of the stars’ divorces to previous partners. This caused the news about Wicked to take a backseat which had Universal Pictures’ studio executives “worried” their pairing could affect the film’s success.
“When news of the relationship first broke, studio execs were extremely worried about how it would impact the film,” a source shared.
After “feeling the heat,” the actors were instructed to “disappear for six months” to give enough time for the backlash to die down before the release date.
Both Ariana and Ethan will appear on NBC’s Wicked: One Wonderful Night when it airs on Nov. 6, as well as Wicked: For Good when it hits theaters on Nov. 21.
