BRATTLEBORO — The Brattleboro Museum & Art Center presents “Grace and Grandeur: Baroque Masterpieces from France and Germany,” a concert by Ensemble Amphion Baroque, on Saturday, Oct. 25, at 7 p.m. Admission is $25 ($15 for BMAC members). Purchase tickets in advance or at the door, subject to availability.

Led by Vermont-based flutist Jesse Lepkoff, Ensemble Amphion Baroque consists of musicians specializing in historically informed performance on period instruments: Marina Minkin (harpsichord), Na’ama Lion (baroque flute), Carol Lewis (viola da gamba), and Owen Wattkins (baroque oboe, recorder). The group seeks to conjure the spirit and sound of the 18th century, drawing listeners into the elegance and emotional breadth of Baroque chamber music.

The Oct. 25 program features works by François Couperin, Marin Marais, Louis-Antoine Dornel, Georg Philipp Telemann, Johann Joachim Quantz, and others.

“We were privileged to host a performance by this extraordinary group about a year ago,” said BMAC Director Danny Lichtenfeld in a news release. “The acoustics were perfect, and the pairing of historic music and instruments with contemporary visual art was sublime.”

Founded in 1972, the Brattleboro Museum & Art Center is supported in part by the Vermont Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts. Additional support is provided by the Brattleboro Food Co-op, Brattleboro Savings & Loan, Brattleboro Subaru, C&S Wholesale Grocers, and Sam’s Outdoor Outfitters.

To purchase tickets, visit brattleboromuseum.org or call 802-257-0124 x101.
