As Victoria Beckham knows, what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.
The Spice Girls alum recently reflected on all she and husband David Beckham have faced during their quarter century of marriage, including claims from former nanny Rebecca Loos in 2004 that she and the former soccer star had an affair.
“We’ve had so much thrown at us,” Victoria, 51, said during her appearance on “Call Her Daddy” which aired Oct. 22. “We were talking about it, because we’ve recently celebrated our 26th wedding anniversary — and, by the way, people said it wouldn’t work — 26 years.”
She continued, “We’ve had so much so much thrown at us, and we’ve always just been there together and just ridden the storm. Ridden the damn storm.”
David, for his part, addressed this fraught period of their relationship in his 2023 docuseries “Beckham.”
“I don’t know how we got through it, in all honesty,” he said. “Victoria’s everything to me. To see her hurt was incredibly difficult. But, we’re fighters. And at that time, we needed to fight for each other, we needed to fight for our family. And what we had was worth fighting for.”‘

At the time, Victoria — who shares kids Brooklyn Peltz Beckham, 26, Romeo Beckham, 22, Cruz Beckham, 20, and Harper Beckham, 14, with the Manchester United legend — agreed it was “the hardest period,” for the pair.
“Because it felt like the world was against us,” she explained. “And here’s the thing: We were against each other, if I’m being completely honest.”
Loos, meanwhile, has long maintained her story that she and David, 50, engaged in a months-long affair.
“It was a very brave thing to do, to go up against them,” the 48-year-old told “60 Minutes Australia” in an interview that aired in March. “I have stuck to the truth, I’ve never exaggerated. I never lied about a single thing. Why? Because I’m going up against the strongest, most powerful couple in the media. And all I had on my side was the truth.”
As for why she decided to come forward with the alleged affair — which David has denied occurred — Rebecca explained, “It’s better that it comes from me and that I have some sort of control. By doing that, it was a way of me, sort of, not getting back at him but…the way he treated me was very unfair, what he was getting away with, and that two-faced life.”
But when it comes to Victoria and David, they’ve long learned to navigate the noise.
“People have been making things up about our relationship for 20 years,” she told British Vogue in 2018, “so David and I are pretty used to ignoring the nonsense and just carrying on as normal.”
