Will There Be a Season 3 of “Nobody Wants This”?

After a year of waiting, Kristen Bell and Adam Brody’s Joanne and Noah returned to Netflix on October 23 for the highly-anticipated second season of Nobody Wants This. The show follows the agnostic romance podcaster Joanne and Rabbi Noah as they navigate an interfaith relationship in Los Angeles, California.

Nobody Wants This became a hit the moment it debuted in September 2024. It spent almost six weeks on Netflix’s Global English-language Top 10 list, reached viewership numbers in the millions, and scored three nominations at both the Golden Globes and Emmys. That popularity quickly earned it a second season renewal. For the last year, viewers have eagerly waited to learn the fate of Joanne and Noah’s relationship following season one’s cliffhanger. Anticipation only heightened with the teasing of new cast members and guest stars, including Alex Karpovsky, Seth Rogen, and the especially coy casting of Leighton Meester (Meester and Brody are married in real life). The ten new episodes finally dropped earlier this week, but viewers are already hungry for more.

Will There Be a Season 3?

Though the second season only dropped on Netflix a few days ago, plenty of viewers have already binged the show and are chattering about a season 3. While Netflix has yet to confirm a renewal, Bell divulged a pretty big clue on the status of season 3 to Parade.

“The writer’s room is working right now,” Bell told Parade. “You never know if you’re gonna be able to shoot because that’s way above our pay grade, and they decide what shows are gonna be shot. But the writer’s room is writing it right now.”

As Bell explained, just because the writing on season 3 has begun, doesn’t necessarily mean the show will get renewed. The prior season received renewal within about two weeks of premiering, so news could come any day now. Nothing’s been confirmed and we won’t know anything about returning cast members (including Meester) until Netlfix makes an official announcement.
