Raye has a lot to be thankful for after the musician’s stolen car, containing her unreleased music, was recently returned to her.
The “WHERE’S MY HUSBAND” singer revealed on The EE Official Big Top 40 that the car, which was stolen in 2024, was found about three months ago.
“It was a roller coaster journey, but what I didn’t tell everyone is the police called me maybe two or three months ago, and they were like, ‘We found your car,’” Raye said. “Not only did I get it back, not one thing had been taken out of the car. All my songwriting books were there, untouched.”
“So that’s great,” the three-time Grammy Award nominee added. “Everything ended well. Never give up hope.”
The “Escapism” singer shared that her car was stolen on her 27th birthday, which was on Oct. 24 of last year.
“It’s my birthday and my car got stolen with all my song writing books in the boot so no second album any time soon love you bye,” Raye wrote in an Instagram post at the time.
The post included a picture of a cake that read, “Sorry ur car got stolen.”
This year, Raye shared a more optimistic Instagram post for her 28th birthday that was this past weekend.
“Tmrw is my 28th Birthday & I’ll be spending it in the studio which is a bit sad isn’t it? or beautiful. a bit of a loner these days but I don’t mind it at all. I’m writing a lot. can’t wait to show you this music, just need to finish it all first 😭 lots to do 🎼🥰 Thanking God for another year of life 🎂❣️Lots of love, Raye,” the post read.
Raye, whose birth name is Rachel Keen, is also expected to drop her sophomore album in the near future. The seven-time BRIT Award winner has yet to announce a release date for the project.
In the meantime, fans can listen to the album’s lead single, “WHERE’S MY HUSBAND” on streaming services. The song currently stands at No. 70 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Raye will also embark on her biggest North American tour yet in March. The tour, called “This Tour May Contain New Music,” will include a stop at MGM Music Hall at Fenway in Boston on April 20.
