The entertainment world is in mourning following the death of James Handy, an actor recognized for his roles in productions such as Top Gun: Maverick and Jumanji. The performer passed away this Wednesday at the age of 81 in a violent incident currently under investigation by Los Angeles authorities.
According to information provided by the Los Angeles Police Department(LAPD), Handy lost his life after allegedly being stabbed by Michael Gledhill, the son of his romantic partner, at a residence located in Tarzana, California.
Per the police report, officers responded to an emergency call around 9:30 a.m. on June 3. The person who contacted 911 made a disturbing statement prior to the arrival of the authorities.
Upon arriving at the home, officers found Handy unconscious in the front yard with a stab wound to the chest. Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics transported him to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Authorities noted that the alleged attacker voluntarily approached the responding officers and assured them he was the person they were looking for. According to the preliminary investigation, the suspect lived in the same residence with his mother, who was romantically involved with the actor.
