Mohegan Sun will have some famous rockers around its holiday tree this year.
The venue announced in a news release that it will host its third annual Sun Patio Tree Lighting on Dec. 7. Philip Bailey and Ralph Johnson, who are members of the band Earth, Wind & Fire, will help illuminate the tree.
The tree lighting event will feature a market, with vendors selling holiday-themed items, a hot chocolate bar and a Santa who guests can take pictures with. Carolers will also sing the “classic holiday tunes,” the news release added.
Later in the evening, Bailey and Johnson will take to the stage of the Mohegan Sun Arena, along with the rest of Earth, Wind & Fire for a concert. The concert is set to feature some of the band’s hit songs like “September,” “Let’s Groove” and “Shining Star,” according to the news release.
The band was established in 1969 and has six Grammy wins and 16 nominations, according to the Grammy’s website. The band was also inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2000.
While the tree lighting event is free, the concert is not. Tickets begin at $61.95.
This is not the only holiday event that Mohegan Sun has lined up for this year. It will host its first-ever SantaCon celebration on Dec. 12.
