BBCWhen contestants are cruelly eliminated from The Celebrity Traitors, a large red cross is plastered across their photograph on the breakfast room wall.
It reminds the A-listers in the Highland castle of those the Traitors have “murdered” overnight.
In Orkney, library staff have recreated the famous picture wall – using the books of some of the cast of celebrities taking part.
Whenever one of them falls victim to the Traitors’ scheming in the turret, the library sticks a red cross over the cover of their book.
And when they are voted off the show, their work is marked as “BANISHED”.
Jonathan Ross, Stephen Fry, Celia Imrie and Alan Carr are among those whose autobiographies appear in the display.
They sit alongside Paloma Faith’s MILF and David Olusoga’s Black and British.

Orkney Library and Archive has told local book fans: “Time to betray your TBR [to be read] pile and plot the ultimate reading strategy.
“No cloaks or daggers required – just a valid library card.”
And after a post of the display was shared to the Traitors HQ Facebook page, fans and library users praised the idea as “brilliant”.
However, the new selection has not increased the books’ popularity.
Library assistant Sandra Rushbrook, who was the brains behind the idea, said: “Quite often when there’s a display up people don’t want to ruin it by taking a book away.”
The Kirkwall establishment often curates displays based on what is happening in the media, such as Eurovision and weather warnings.
It is renowned for its humorous campaigns and entertaining online presence, as well as its popular library van “Booky McBookface”.
