COLCHESTER, Vt. (ABC22/FOX44) – This week on ‘At The Box Office’ Julia Swift reviewed “Jay Kelly”, a comedy-drama following both an actor and his manager.
Swift says this film pays homage to the classic 1940s Hollywood comedies, all while having emotional moments woven into the story.
George Clooney plays the titular Jay Kelly, while Adam Sandler takes on the role of Ron, Kelly’s manager. Swift notes that these actors, along with others in the film, create “wonderful amazing performances”.
At The Box Office: ‘Mr. Scorsese’
The film itself focuses on Jay Kelly as a looks back on his life, questioning his acting career and other life choices. Swift also highlights the father-daughter relationships presented throughout, which emotion into the film and audience.
“I laughed, I cried, I felt more connected to the other people in the audience because we were laughing and crying together,” Swift says.
Those interested can check out “Jay Kelly” in select theatres on November 14, and later on Netflix in December.
