Pete Davidson has no regrets about his decision to say goodbye to the majority of his tattoos.
“It’s a lot, and it’s super worth it for me because I don’t like my tattoos, and I am a different person than I was when I got them,” Davidson, 31, exclusively shared with Us Weekly while celebrating the all new Amazon Alexa+. “When I see myself in the mirror, I just see like, you know, poor decision making and I wasn’t there yet as an adult.”
For the record, the Saturday Night Live album doesn’t think there’s anything wrong with tattoos.
“I know people who have f***ing really cool ones,” he explained. “It’s just, mine are literally stupid, except for like five of them that I’m keeping.”
Back in 2021, Davidson first revealed his plans to get a majority of his tattoos removed — a notoriously laborious, expensive and painful process. In August, however, the comedian said one of the tattoos that will be staying is his tribute to Hillary Clinton on his leg.

Although he’s only 30 percent done, Davidson previously said he’s spent nearly $200,000 on the process so far.
“It’s a long game. Anyone who’s interested in doing it, just know that it’s gonna take a long time,” Davidson explained. “That’s a hard thing, especially for a guy like me who does comedy. Comedy is instant gratification, right? You tell a joke [and know] if it’s funny right away. But if you wanna do it, it’s really worth it. And my arms are almost fully clear, and I can wear a T-shirt. It’s nice.”
When asked if he’s noticed a difference in how people treat him with less visible tattoos, Davidson said he hasn’t seen much of a change.
At the same time, he acknowledged all the personal work he has done on his mental health to make him a better man.
“I’ve been working on myself personally and my mental health, and I think it’s showing,” he said. “You can see it, and people are seeing that. So the overall kind of vibe has been really positive lately.”
Davidson — who is currently expecting his first child with girlfriend Elsie Hewitt — added with a laugh, “I’m just really grateful after a decade of a s*** show. I’m really, really grateful, but also remember how it could go. So I’m taking it with a grain of salt, but I appreciate it.”
Before becoming a father, Davidson is excited to partner up with Amazon again as the company launches Alexa+, described as smarter, more conversational and even sassier than its OG counterpart.
“It’s reliable and we’re in a world — especially today — where everything moves very fast, and it’s just kind of nice to have something that’s always there that you could rely on,” Davidson explained of Alexa+. “I don’t have social media, so I always ask it, ‘What’s the biggest story that I need to know?’ Like, actually though. … I love being able to be like, ‘What’s the weather? What movie is hot right now?’ Or just s*** that I don’t have to go be on the phone for. It’s just been nice.”
While Davidson is afraid to ask Alexa if she knows an actor by the name of Pete Davidson, he’s not shy about asking the device if everything is going to be OK.
“I’m like, ‘Is everything gonna be OK?’ And she’s like, ‘Oh yes, everything will be fine,’” he joked. “It’s nice if you’re a person who needs reassurance and is insecure, because if there’s stuff you don’t want to ask your friends or your partner, you could just ask Alexa.”
