FROM Santa’s grotto to festive stalls and live music, there’s something for everyone to enjoy this Christmas in Salisbury.
Salisbury City Council has now announced its Christmas events, starting off with Christmas Begins in the Market Place and Guildhall Square on November 21.
This free to enter event will feature live music, entertainment, festive stalls, and delicious food and drink, from 1pm to 8pm.
This will be followed by Christmas on the Square from November 21 to December 31, providing more than five weeks of pop-up festive fun. Children will be able to meet Santa in his grotto, while adults can relax in the bar with live music and entertainment on select days and explore a charming selection of retail huts – all on the Guildhall Square.

Santa will make himself a temporary resident of the city as he will be back in his grotto from November 21 to Christmas Eve, where families can capture the joy of Christmastime with a photo and feel the excitement as little ones awaits a special moment with Santa himself.

Each child will receive a wrapped gift to take home, straight from Santa’s workshop. Click here to pre-book grotto tickets.
Sunday festive markets will provide the very best place to find handcrafted gifts and seasonal treats. These are taking place on November 30, December 7, 14, and 21.
Visitors are invited to browse a wide range of stalls, showcasing unique goods and local traders. With markets running on the four Sundays before Christmas from 10am to 4pm, there are plenty of chances to explore the stalls, indulge in delicious food and drink, and find those special gifts for your loved ones.
“Salisbury City Council is pleased to announce its line-up of events for the 2025 festive season, with Salisbury Market Place and Guildhall Square set to come alive with a variety of activities, offering something for everyone to enjoy,” a council spokesperson said.
