Private equity firm Platinum Equity has completed its acquisition of Anuvu, a global leader in in-flight entertainment and high-speed connectivity solutions serving aviation, maritime, and non-theatrical markets. The transaction, first announced in August 2025, marks the beginning of a new chapter for Anuvu as it strengthens its technology platform, expands service capabilities, and accelerates innovation for mobility clients worldwide.
Anuvu operates two primary business divisions. Its Media Technology Services arm licenses, distributes, localizes, and delivers entertainment content to airlines, cruise lines, and other travel sectors, maintaining a vast catalog of over 400,000 titles across film, television, and digital media. Its Connectivity division provides broadband satellite Internet access, telecommunications equipment, passenger experience platforms, and analytics tools, supporting inflight connectivity and onboard communication for more than 150 airlines and 30 cruise-line partners globally.
With Platinum Equity’s operational and financial backing, Anuvu plans to deepen investments in next-generation satellite technologies, expand its content distribution capabilities, and enhance data-driven passenger management solutions. The acquisition provides Anuvu with the capital and strategic support necessary to scale its dual focus on entertainment and connectivity, both of which are increasingly vital to the passenger experience in modern mobility markets.
The partnership also positions Anuvu to expand into adjacent verticals as digital transformation reshapes the aviation and maritime industries. Platinum Equity’s experience in global operations and its track record of building technology and media platforms will support Anuvu’s ambition to deliver seamless, end-to-end solutions for clients seeking both reliability and innovation.
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Drake Star served as the exclusive financial advisor to Anuvu.
