Disgraced mogul Sean ‘P Diddy’ Combs has started a prison job in the laundry room at FCI Fort Dix – a major downgrade from his pampered life before his 2024 arrest
The first photo of Sean “P Diddy” Combs since his arrest in September 2024 has been released, and shows the mogul taking on his first prison job.
The picture, taken on Friday at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey and obtained by the Mirror US, shows him walking in the prison yard wearing a beanie and jacket. His gray beard is also visible. It is the first time he has been seen publicly since his arrest, aside from the court sketches from his criminal trial.
Sources familiar with the situation told the platform that Combs’ first assignment at FCI Fort Dix is in the prison laundry room. “Diddy’s first gig at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey plants him in the laundry room…washing and drying dirty clothes,” one source said.

The job involves basic tasks like loading washing machines, drying, folding, and distributing clean clothing to inmates.
The assignment is a stark contrast to the music producer’s life before his arrest. During his criminal trial, federal prosecutors said that Combs “couldn’t even charge his own phone or fetch a bottle of water,” claiming he often relied on a team of personal assistants for everyday tasks.
Combs was moved to FCI Fort Dix early Thursday morning to begin the check-in process.
The facility is a low-security federal prison located in New Jersey. Conditions there are considered less restrictive than those at MDC Brooklyn, where he had been held without bail since his arrest in September 2024.
He is serving a 50-month sentence and, according to the Bureau of Prisons, is scheduled for release on May 8, 2028. However, that date could change.
His attorney, Marc Agnifilo, told TMZ on Thursday that he expects Combs to be released before that time.
Inmates at Fort Dix are generally required to work while serving their sentences, and laundry duty is a common first assignment. The job offers modest pay and allows inmates to adjust to the prison routine.
Combs’ transfer to Fort Dix follows a lengthy court process that began after his arrest in 2024. He was taken into custody on federal charges related to racketeering, sex trafficking, and money laundering.
Throughout his trial, prosecutors described a pattern of criminal conduct linked to his entertainment business, while his legal team argued that the charges were exaggerated and politically motivated.
While awaiting trial, Combs was held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. MDC is a high-security facility known for its strict conditions and limited amenities.
Inmates there face more restrictions on movement, fewer work programs, and limited recreation compared to lower-security institutions like Fort Dix.
Now that he has been sentenced and relocated, Combs will likely remain at Fort Dix for the duration of his sentence, barring disciplinary issues or a transfer request approved by the Bureau of Prisons.
