It takes a special kind of performer to fall off stage and still look cool doing it. At his concert in Winnipeg, country musician Gavin Adcock slipped mid-song and plunged into the audience while performing “Deep End.”
Instead of stopping the show, the country star kept singing (whiskey in hand), proving that not even a fall could slow him down.
The viral moment happened during Adcock’s set at the Burton Cummings Theatre in Winnipeg, Manitoba. A fan-shot video shows the shirtless singer leaning toward the crowd, when he suddenly lost his footing and fell off the edge of the stage.
Despite the unexpected tumble, Adcock never missed a note. He kept belting out the lyrics as the crowd cheered him on. Sure, he may have lost his cowboy hat in the chaos, but he definitely didn’t lose his cool — or his bottle of whiskey.
Adcock chimed in on the post himself, saying simply, “It happens.” Fans quickly rallied in the comments, showing their support for the country singer. One wrote, “And he was still rocking it out, what a legend,” while another added, “Bless his heart. Walk it off it’ll be ok,” and “Great recovery, didn’t miss a beat!”
Onstage slips and stumbles are nothing new in country music. Last year,Luke Bryan famously tripped over a cell phone tossed onto the stage. Darius Rucker also took a tumble in Charleston after tripping over a monitor, joking with fans, “We’ve been doing this all summer. I hadn’t fell once. But I busted my a* in my hometown.”
Even superstar Morgan Wallen took a spill in front of a sold-out crowd last July 4, yet bounced right back up without missing a note.
While his ego may have taken a hit, Adcock hasn’t been able to escape the headlines this year. Earlier, he spoke out about a confrontation involving fellow country star ZachBryan, after footage surfaced of Bryan climbing a fence to face him at a festival.
“I’ve already said, ‘I don’t think Zach Bryan is a very good person,’” he posted on Instagram. “He wasn’t locked out of the festival. He had been there all day with his multiple security guards.”
A few weeks later, Adcock found himself in another viral moment, this time when a fan charged the stage during his Wichita, Kansas show. His security team quickly stepped in, and Adcock later posted the video with the caption, “What happens when you jump the barricade at a country music concert.”
