Comedian Jon Stewart is sticking with Comedy Central and “The Daily Show.”

The network announced on Monday that Stewart, who resumed his hosting duties after President Trump won reelection last year, had signed a new contract to host “The Daily Show” through 2026.

“Jon Stewart continues to elevate the genre he created. His return is an ongoing commitment to the incisive comedy and sharp commentary that define ‘The Daily Show,’” Ari Pearce, head of Comedy Central, said in a statement. “The renewal is a win for audiences, for Comedy Central and for all our programming partners. We’re proud to support Jon and the extraordinary news team.”

Stewart, who served a brief stint hosting a show on Apple TV, is one of several satirists and late-night comedians who have made a name for themselves in recent years mocking President Trump and his allies.

There had been speculation about Stewart’s future at the network following Comedy Central’s parent company, Paramount, merging with entertainment giant Skydance this summer.

“New Paramount,” as the company has been called, is led by David Ellison, the son of tech tycoon and Trump ally Larry Ellison.

Stewart has been sharply critical of Paramount over its cancellation of “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” and settlement with President Trump in connection with a “60 Minutes” interview it aired with former Vice President Kamala Harris last year.
