Sean ‘P Diddy’ Combs has seemingly been settling into jail life as new pictures show him mingling with his fellow cellmates including a major disgraced NBA star
It seems Sean ‘P Diddy’ Combs has been making friends as he gets used to life behind bars.
The disgraced music mogul, 56, who celebrated his birthday in prison this week, has already run into a familiar face after being spotted hanging out with former NBA star Sebastian Telfair, who was jailed for attempting to defraud the league’s health and welfare benefit plan.
Diddy, who is almost four months into his four-year jail sentence after being found guilty on two counts of transportation for prostitution back in July, linked up with Telfair in the prison yard at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey, where they are the most famous inmates doing time.

In the photos, Diddy is seen laughing and chatting with a group of fellow convicts, with Telfair’s publicist confirming he is one of the men talking to him.
The interaction caught the eye of body language expert Judi James, who exclusively told Mirror US, “Diddy is almost unrecognizable here as he seems to be smiling and laughing, whereas his signature expression throughout his career has been a very unsmiling and often dour one.”
She continued, “He seems to be enjoying the interaction with the other men and, with his hands stuffed into his pockets, he appears to be in a relaxed mode here.”
However, the rapper may not be laughing and smiling for much longer, as his newfound pal, who is also from Brooklyn like Diddy, will not be with the Bad Boy Records founder for much longer, as he nears the halfway point of his six-month sentence for violating the conditions of his supervised release in a healthcare fraud case.
The scam allegedly involved fake medical and dental expenses as part of a three-year conspiracy that began in 2017.
Telfair, 40, was a 2004 first-round NBA Draft pick for the Portland Trail Blazers out of Abraham Lincoln High School, where he became one of the most sought-after prospects in America.
He went on to play for the Boston Celtics, Minnesota Timberwolves, Los Angeles Clippers, Cleveland Cavaliers, Phoenix Suns, Toronto Raptors, and Oklahoma City Thunder before bringing the curtain down on his career in China.
After previously pleading for a pardon from President Donald Trump, the sports star reported to Fort Dix, a “low security” institution, back in August.
In 2023, he pleaded guilty to charges of fraud after being found to be one of 18 former NBA players who defrauded the league’s health and welfare benefit plan of approximately $ 4 million. He was sentenced to time served, plus three years of probation, which included court-ordered community service.
As for Diddy, the singer isn’t due for early release from prison on May 8, 2028. The date, which was shared by the Bureau of Prisons last week, assumes he will maintain good behavior, which would see him released after completing 85 percent of his 50-month sentence.
He will have the opportunity to shave a fraction of his sentence off for each of the three and a half years he is behind bars as part of the First Step Act, aimed at rehabilitating federal prisoners. So far, there have been no reports of any bad behavior behind bars.
He was recently transferred to Fort Dix after requesting a transfer from Brooklyn’s notorious Metropolitan Detention Center.
