To celebrate the two-year anniversary of their Saviors era, Green Day shared a music video for the track “Suzie Chapstick.” Their 14th studio album, Saviors, was initially announced in October 2023 with the release of the album’s lead single “The American Dream Is Killing Me.” The album was released on January 19, 2024 through Reprise Records and went on to earn a Grammy nomination for Best Rock Album.
Following the album’s release, Green Day embarked on a massive 87-date world tour, playing in stadiums across North America, Europe, and the U.K. Not only did the band celebrate their latest record, but they also hit the road to celebrate 30 years of their hit album Dookie and 20 years of American Idiot.
The “Suzie Chapstick” music video features candid moments from on the road, as well as the more explosive onstage moments throughout The Saviors Tour, and was put together by Ryan and Alice Baxley.
In a statement on social media announcing the video’s release, Green Day wrote, “Soooo it’s pretty hard to believe it’s been two years since we kicked off the Saviors run. What a trip!!! The ‘Suzie Chapstick’ vid is a look back at alllllll the chaos (and everything in between).”
Green Day are currently celebrating their recent film New Years Rev, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 12. The band also recently announced a 25th-anniversary deluxe release of their album Warning, which arrives November 14 and will include demos, rarities, and a full unreleased live show from Tokyo in 2001.
