The Duchess gave up this role to marry Harry and become a full-time working royal – a role she quit less than two years after her big Windsor wedding.
While it is believed her upcoming movie role is more of a small cameo than a full-on role, her return to life behind the cameras has been considered by many as a potential sign of things to come.
It is believed Prince Harry, 41, is supportive of his wife.
Meghan Markle has not yet addressed the news herself, despite being photographed on set in California just days ago.
