When Ian Munsick released his third studio album, ‘Eagle Feather,’ in April, it opened with a haunting 45-second interlude titled ‘Prairie Lament’ — a brief but powerful ode to his home state of Wyoming. Fans immediately connected with the song’s heartfelt tribute and have been asking for a full version ever since. Now, Munsick has answered that call, releasing a complete 3-minute and 23-second version of ‘Prairie Lament,’ available now on all streaming platforms.

Written by Munsick alongside Jeremy Spillman, ‘Prairie Lament’ paints a vivid picture of Munsick’s deep connection to the land that raised him. With tender vocals and cinematic lyricism, the track captures his pride and longing for Wyoming’s vast, untamed beauty. “Wyoming has always made me feel special. Not only as an artist/songwriter, but as a human being,” Munsick shared. “We are the least populated state in the country where peaceful isolation coexists with brutal ruggedness. Folks from the Cowboy State are self-reliant, humble, neighbourly, and above all, rare. I figured it was time I finished what I started with ‘Prairie Lament’—Wyoming, this one’s for you.”

The release arrives alongside news of Munsick’s 2026 The Eagle Flies Free Tour, which kicks off February 13 in Charlotte, North Carolina. Spanning 17 dates, the tour will feature special guests Lanie Gardner, Ben Haggard, Tyler Nance, and Jake Worthington, bringing Munsick’s signature modern-Western sound to fans across the U.S. The announcement follows a standout year for the Wyoming native, including his history-making performance at Cheyenne Frontier Days, where he became the first Wyoming-born artist to headline the iconic event.

Throughout the tour, Munsick will perform songs from across his three acclaimed albums highlighting a career built on authenticity, family roots and a deep love for the West. His ability to blend traditional cowboy storytelling with contemporary country production has made him one of Nashville’s most unique voices, representing a new frontier in country music.
