Bad Company was just inducted to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame — but lead singer Paul Rodgers did not attend the ceremony or perform with the group.
On Monday, Nov. 3, Rodgers announced he would be missing the ceremony due to unspecified health issues.
“My hope was to be at the Rock & Rock Hall of Fame induction ceremony and to perform for the fans, but at this time I have to prioritize my health,” he said in a statement. “I have no problem singing, it’s the stress of everything else. Thanks for understanding. Simon [Kirke] along with some outstanding musicians will be stepping in for me — guaranteed to rock.”
Though Rodgers could not be in attendance, his bandmate Simon Kirke was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame by Mick Fleetwood. The other two original Bad Company members, Mick Ralphs and Boz Burrell, passed away in 2025 and 2006, respectively.

Following Fleetwood’s speech, Kirke — the band’s drummer — was joined onstage by the Black Crowes’ Chris Robinson, Heart’s Nancy Wilson, and Aerosmith’s Joe Perry for a performance of “Feel Like Makin’ Love.”
Singer-songwriter Bryan Adams took over for Rodgers as lead vocalist.
After the performance, Kirke delivered a speech that paid tribute to Rodgers, Ralphs, and Burrell. At the end, he introduced Rodgers, who addressed the crowd with an emotional pre-recorded speech.

The 2025 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony airs on Disney+ starting at 8 p.m. EST on Nov. 8. ABC will also air a primetime special on Thursday, Jan. 1, 2026, with streaming available on Hulu the next day.
