Over nine years raising funds to provide prosthetics for amputees, the Thundergong! event in Kansas City has made just shy of $4 million.
They increased that total by another $1.1 million on Saturday, Nov. 8, setting a record for the fundraising hosted by “Ted Lasso” star Jason Sudeikis in coordination with Steps of Faith.
Among the items up for bidding in a live auction Saturday were two pairs of Nike Air Max 90s, of which only eight have ever been made. The pairs were sold for $15,000 each, totaling $30,000.
But one of the biggest ticket items of the night came from Sudeikis himself and his Emmy Award-winning show.
Auctioned off for $45,000, tickets were available to let two people attend the Los Angeles premiere of “Ted Lasso”’s fourth season in summer 2026. All in all, four sets of tickets were auctioned off for a total of $180,000.
Sudeikis was joined by some of his fellow cast members on stage to give away the prizes.
The rest of the record-setting total came from individual tickets and donations. And the donation total could still go up — online raffles and auctions run until noon on Friday, Nov. 14.
“Well done 43 states and eight countries, all you people,” Sudeikis said. “Well done. Thank you very much.”
