Sarah Ferguson is reportedly reliant on courtiers for emotional support ahead of her eviction from Royal Lodge with Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie concerned for their mother’s future.
Ferguson, 65, is expected to depart the sprawling royal property she has shared with her ex-husband Prince Andrew for two decades in the coming months.
The former Duke and Duchess of York have face renewed public scrutiny over their ties to late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, prompting the palace to strip the York Dukedom.
According to royal sources, Ferguson was inconsolable over the loss of the Duchess of York title she’s held continuously since her wedding day in 1986.
But the harshest blow for the “happily divorced” couple will likely be the end of their lease on the palatial Royal Lodge they have occupied since 2004.
Ferguson has used the royal residence as her London base while she’s embarked on her charity work and an endless spree of questionable business deals.
Sources close to Ferguson told The Sun that the ex-working royal is concerned about her future after leaving the privacy and security of Royal Lodge amid her public fall from grace.
“It is no secret that Sarah is not in a good way at the moment,” the source said.
“The girls are extremely worried about her, and making sure they stay in touch.
“She feels she is blameless but has taken what has happened recently extremely hard.”
The sprawling 30-room mansion is behind gates inside Windsor Great Park and is one of the grandest homes in the crown estate.
It is understood Andrew and Sarah sleep at different ends of the huge home and only join one another at mealtimes to discuss their futures.
The insider also claimed that Fergie is “leaning on” household staff for support, including asking them to stay late at the Lodge to keep her company.
“Sarah is spending quite a lot of evenings in The Doghouse, which is a purpose-built bar behind Royal Lodge in Windsor Great Park,” the source said.
“She drinks in there with friends and staff to escape from what is going on in her life generally.
“And while she is there, she takes advice on what to do next.”
Andrew and Sarah currently share the grand property with a menagerie of dogs, including Queen Elizabeth II’s surviving two corgis.
It is understood the pooches, who were bequeathed to the Yorks, will accompany Sarah and Andrew to their new home.
