Jelly Roll has wowed fans as he relaxed shirtless on a balcony in Sydney, Australia.
The musician, who is currently on his world tour, could be seen lounging around on his hotel room’s terrace amid news he’s shed 200 lbs. In the new snaps, Jelly Roll, whose real name is Jason Bradley DeFord, could be seen leaning on his balcony railing while scrolling on his phone.
The images of the 40-year-old star come as he was forced to postpone his recent Auckland, New Zealand show due to illness, with fans fuming at the short-notice cancellation.
Taking to social media hours before the show to explain the postponement on November 8, Jelly Roll wrote, “Dear Auckland, I’ve done everything I can. I just can’t shake it. It breaks my heart. I’ve probably missed three shows in the last decade. I pride myself on showing up no matter what. Just couldn’t do it this time. Please forgive me.”
However, fans reported that they didn’t know about the cancellation until they were at the venue, with many angry that they had traveled a considerable distance for Jelly Roll’s first-ever New Zealand show.
One fan wrote on social media, “Can’t believe you cancelled Auckland while everyone was already on their way to the concert. Beyond disappointing!!!”
Another person also added, “Jelly, where are you man… thought we had something special and then you go cancel the concert,” as a third penned, “Could have saved a lot of us thousands in flights and accommodation.”
However, some people, instead, shared their well-wishes regarding Jelly Roll’s weight loss.
“Looking good, that’s amazing work!” one person wrote on X, as another commented, “200lb is like shedding another human. That kind of transformation takes serious daily grit. Wild to see.”
“Man’s out here dropping albums and pounds,” quipped a third.
The multi-platinum rapper had been performing in the region, playing shows in Sydney, Brisbane, and Melbourne. However, it hadn’t all gone swimmingly for the star in Australia as he alleged he was “treated like a criminal” at Louis Vuitton in Sydney.
Despite his claims, though, fans were quick to point out that he may be to blame for his treatment as he arrived at the store wearing a baseball cap backwards and his trademark sweats.
Speaking on Instagram about the situation, Jelly Roll said, “Hey man, the Louis Vuitton in Sydney, legitimately just treated us like we were [fixing to] come in and rob that place. I have never been looked at more like a crim… Listen, the last time I was looked at like a criminal this bad… I was an actual criminal this bad.”
Following his time in Oceania, Jelly Roll is next expected to perform on November 14 in Mexico City.
