Better Off Dead is one of the most beloved films of the ’80s, and two of its stars are back together!
The iconic 1985 film, which starred John Cusack as a high school teen who gets dumped by his girlfriend and will go to any length to get her back, is a classic that’s still rewatched by many. Actress Diane Franklin played Monique Junot in the movie, and she still frequently hits the convention circuit. However, the duo rarely reunites. That’s why it’s such a delight to see Franklin and Cusack, who went on to tremendous acclaim with films like Say Anything, Con Air, and High Fidelity, back together at The Sands, celebrating the film’s 40th anniversary.
Franklin Steams Up Instagram With Her Bikini Pics
Franklin, known for other legendary flicks like Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure and How I Got into College, is doing better than ever these days. In addition to still acting frequently, she hit the beach in the last week and floored followers with her photos. In her most recent shot, Franklin sported a shiny silver bikini with her curly hair in a towering ponytail.
“I interrupt this convention with a beach moment…🔥🔥🔥,” she captioned the photo.
In another shot, with her hair cascading down her back, Franklin wore a deep purple string bikini to pose alongside Amanda Wyss, who also appeared in Better Off Dead.
“Monique and Beth waiting for Lane and surprise guest…😎🎬🔥 With mon ami BFF @amandawyss!! ❤️,” she wrote.
Franklin is a Frequent Face on the Convention Circuit
Franklin frequently appears at tours and conventions because people love her long history of diverse yet memorable characters, which range from Monique Junet in Better Off Dead to Princess Joanna in Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure. She told The Pitch Kansas City that those memorable roles have allowed her to tour and meet legions of fans.
“I’m really fortunate that I’m able to go to a lot of different types of conventions just based on my past work,” says Franklin. “And I have to tell you, it’s so fun. I think it’s just because I’ve been acting for so long and I appreciate doing conventions and being remembered for the films, because not everybody is remembered.”
