Ariana Grande Matches with Her Brother and Mom in Glinda-fied Makeup

The Grandes have been Glinda-fied.

At the London premiere of “Wicked: For Good,” Ariana Grande paid homage to her character in Jon M. Chu’s two-part film adaptation with pink-hued makeup, and she wasn’t the only Grande to do so. Elsewhere on the golden brick carpet, her brother Frankie Grande, and her mom, Joan Grande, nodded to her character, juxtaposing their dark garb with fuchsia lipstick and Persian pink eye shadow.

With freshly dyed hair courtesy of Alyx Liu, the “Eternal Sunshine” singer wore baby pink blush like contour under her cheekbones and dressed her lips in bubblegum-colored gloss. Celebrity makeup artist Michael Anthony accentuated her under eyes using a brightening concealer and kissed the faintest shade of pink to her outer corners next to long lash extensions that reached her brows. Her “button nose” technique was prominent in the camera flash, a line of bronzer cutting across her nose with highlighter stamped on the tip.

Joan, on the other hand, continued her streak of bold lips with a matte pink hue next to Frankie, who painted his lids in pink shimmer. The sparkly hue was flanked by buffed-out black shadow, which moved like falling tears away from his eyes. It’s not known whether Frankie was responsible for his own glam, or if he collaborated with an artist to help him construct the look. However, the 42-year-old actor is typically the visionary behind his makeup.

The Grandes seemed to also be in fashion agreement, touting all-black ensembles with their pink-flushed visages. The “We Can’t Be Friends” singer wore a one-shoulder, polka-dot princess gown made by costume designer Gilbert Adrian in 1952, while her mom donned a tuxedo-style jacket dress. Frankie mellowed the fancy dress with a biker-inspired ensemble, comprised of an unzipped leather jacket and matching high-waisted pants with zippers up his legs.

Grande’s journey back to brunette has been a subtle and slow transition from her Glinda coloring, which she debuted during the early days of “Wicked” filming in 2022. In late October, she finally ripped the blond bandaid all the way off and revealed her new shade of brown on Instagram. “It’s good to see me, isn’t it?” her caption read.

At the “Wicked: For Good” premiere in Paris on Nov. 7, her tone resembled more of a bright mahogany. In London on Monday, Grande’s coloring toed the line of cherry mahogany and chestnut.
