Money isn’t everything to Sydney Sweeney.
The Euphoria actress, 28, shared a heartfelt Instagram post about her new movie, Christy, which made just $1.3 million after it opened in theaters on Friday, November 7.
“I am so deeply proud of this movie,” Sweeney wrote on Monday, November 10, alongside a carousel of photos from the making of the movie — in which she played boxer Christy Martin, who survived an attempted murder by her ex-husband — calling it “one of the greatest honors of my life.”

“This film stands for survival, courage, and hope,” the Anyone But You star continued. “Through our campaigns, we’ve helped raise awareness for so many affected by domestic violence.”
“Thank you to everyone who saw, felt, and believed and will believe in this story for years to come,” Sweeney added.
While the movie is considered her biggest box office failure yet — and follows several months of backlash over Sweeney’s controversial American Eagle ad campaign — the White Lotus alum kept her message focused on the positive.
“If Christy gave even one woman the courage to take her first step toward safety, then we will have succeeded. So yes I’m proud,” she concluded. “Why? Because we don’t always just make art for numbers, we make it for impact.”
