Alex Cooper is most well-known for her role as host of the Call Her Daddy podcast, but she’s gained a bit of notoriety in recent days due to her choice in home decor. The podcaster’s Los Angeles home was featured in Architectural Digest in 2023, and while securing the story is quite the feat, some fans are wildly underwhelmed by Cooper’s choice in interior design.
Though the Architectural Digest profile is a few years old, fans are now taking to social media to criticize the home decor, calling it “a sell out.”
“I’ve never been so mad about an AD feature. And I love AD, typically. But this feels like such a sell out to me. She has so much money. Just wait til you see this house. You’re telling me this is the best you could come up with. I mean, not even to be mean, but Pottery Barn has better ads. There is nothing interesting in this entire room,” said Home Design Consultant, Taylor Krug in a video shared on Instagram this week.
She also stressed that she wasn’t placing any blame on the designer given the likelihood of Cooper making all the design choices for the home.
“I don’t even blame the designer because when these people have this amount of money typically the designer gets zero say. You’re basically hired to do a project and you’re supposed to be thankful that it’s a celebrity or that you’ll get like a photo in AD,” Krug added.
Since being uploaded a few days ago, Krug’s video has received well over 20,000 views, with many commenters agreeing with her stern stance.
“No I’ve definitely noticed lately that the videos feature PEOPLE rather than the spaces,” one person wrote in the comments.
“I thought that same exact thing: it’s so blah,” another user chimed in.
