Oak Ridge’s Elaine Hendrix is headed to the “Dancing with the Stars” semi-finals.
Hendrix, along with five other celebrities, danced their way through Week 9 of “Dancing with the Stars” and are still in the running to earn the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy.
In Week 9, the competition show honored its two-decade tenure with a 20th birthday party on Nov. 11. Former host Tom Bergeron returned as a guest judge on the episode. Each celebrity and dance pro duo danced to a song previously done as a “freestyle” number in an earlier season.
Additionally, former “Dancing with the Stars” winners returned to the ballroom to dance with the current contestants in a relay dance-off.
Hendrix and her partner, Alan Bersten, danced a salsa to “It Takes Two” by Rob Base & DJ EZ Rock.

The comedian is known for his voice actor role as Mort in “Madagascar,” his character Morris in “Elf” and his role as a writer on the Conan O’Brien show.

Who is Elaine Hendrix?
An Oak Ridge-born actress and producer, Hendrix is currently jiving and tangoing her way through ABC’s dancing competition with her pro partner, Alan Bersten.
Hendrix grew up right here in East Tennessee. She was born in Oak Ridge and grew up there and in Morristown.
Elaine Hendrix is best known for her role in “The Parent Trap.” She famously played Meredith Blake in the 1998 film starring Lindsay Lohan. More recently, Hendrix starred in TV show “Dynasty” as Alexis Carrington from 2019 to 2022. The actress also makes a cameo in the 2025 movie “Freakier Friday” as Blake Kale.
Hendrix joined the DWTS cast, giving her the opportunity to reconnect with dance, a passion that she “fell in love with” in her childhood, the actor said.
Now, she hopes to bring the mirrorball home for East Tennesseans, fans, Bersten and “that 21-year-old inside me who had to give up her dreams so long ago.”
“I came into this competing against myself. I maintain that because, to me, I’m using this opportunity to see just what I can do,” Hendrix said. “At the same time, the further I go, the more I go, ‘Can I do this? Could that actually happen? Could I win?’ Whatever happens, it’s going to be incredible, but I am more determined now.”
