Bridget Fonda has largely stayed out of the public eye since leaving the entertainment industry in the early 2000s. But the beloved actress made a rare exception on Tuesday, November 11, when she was spotted in Los Angeles, California.
In the candid photos, the retired actress wore a black tank top paired with matching pants, layered under an unbuttoned green long-sleeve shirt. She accessorized with a crossbody bag, a large yellow tote, sunglasses and her phone in hand.
The actress’ formerly blonde locks were pulled back into a sleek gray bun.
The Godfather Part III star looked radiant during her outing, showing off a dramatic transformation that reportedly includes a weight loss of more than 80 pounds.

Fonda’s wellness journey comes after she spoke candidly about struggling with insecurities before stepping away from Hollywood in 2003.
“What is it with my low self-esteem?” she questioned during a 2000 interview. “I’m trying to be happy with my career. I think I should give myself a break, but I’ve got this bug that rides me.”
“‘You should be doing better.’ Every time I work, I’m frustrated with my physical inability to catch up to my mental picture,” she admitted. She didn’t regain her confidence until retiring from acting in 2003.
Her career came to an abrupt end after a serious car accident, in which her vehicle veered off the road and rolled down an embankment, leaving it completely destroyed.
At the time, the BBC reported that Fonda had sustained a “minor fracture of two thoracic vertebrae,” but was expected to make a full recovery. The accident happened at the height of her career, just as she was gaining significant recognition in the industry.
Before stepping away from acting, Bridget had a remarkable career spanning the late ’80s, ’90s, and early 2000s. Her notable films include Scandal, Single White Female, Point of No Return, Jackie Brown, A Simple Plan and No Ordinary Baby. Her final on-screen credit was in 2002’s Snow Queen.
Beyond the accident, Bridget also chose to step away from acting to focus on growing her family. In 2005, she and her husband, renowned composer Danny Elfman, welcomed their son, Oliver.
Bridget comes from a legendary acting lineage, being the daughter of Peter Fonda, niece of Jane Fonda, and granddaughter of Henry Fonda.
In a 2000 interview with The Guardian, she addressed claims that her success was tied to her famous family. “The nice thing is that I respect them. I never felt that I had to deny their existence or be embarrassed by association,” she said.
