The film, which marks actor Lauren Caster’s feature filmmaking debut, follows Ro (Caster), “a struggling dancer who returns home after years away to meet her biological father for the first time, confronting the complexities of her unconventional upbringing and rediscovering her creative voice through unlikely friendships,” per an official synopsis.
In addition to Caster, the “Rhythm Is a Dancer” cast includes Tate Donovan, Amy Aquino and Floriana Lima.
Back in October, “Rhythm Is a Dancer” received enthusiastic responses from audiences when it premiered at the Austin Film Festival. The film is now seeking international sales representation and distribution.
HMJ72 Productions’ Jerry Morey, who serves as executive producer on “Rhythm Is a Dancer,” is on site at AFM meeting with potential partners.
