Ferndale Repertory Theatre invites families and theater-goers of all ages to journey down the Yellow Brick Road with “The Wizard of Oz,” running Nov. 21 through Dec. 21 at the historic Hart Theatre in Ferndale.

This holiday season, audiences can experience the timeless magic of L. Frank Baum’s beloved tale, brought to life by an all-local cast in a heartfelt celebration of home, courage and friendship.

With dazzling costumes, imaginative staging and a cast of over 30 local performers — including a spirited youth ensemble of Munchkins, Poppies, and Flying Monkeys — this year’s holiday show promises laughter, wonder, and heart for audiences of all ages.

The cast includes Marina Benson, Brandy Rose, Sharleen Lagattua, Michele Simms, Ruben Botello, Mathew Lewis, Jim Buschmann, Hope Beattie, Roxanne Darby, Mint Leaf, Tina Toomata, Maci Laswell, Angie Petroske, Jeanette Steele, Magdalena Koeppel, Jeanavy Perez, Charity Holik-Pino, Dillon Tucker, Tenley Weeks, Brooke Weeks, Katie Johnson, Kaleb Tremblay, Cerise Howard, June Smith, Claire LaFrance, Olivia Anderson, Everleigh Keener, Henrietta Petroske, Emma Varzgah, Stevie Staley and Emma Staley.

The creative team is led by FRT Artistic Producing Director Jessie Rawson (director, choreographer, sound design), with Elaine Yslas (music director) and Madison Glee (stage manager).

Friday performances take place at 7:30 p.m. and there will be Saturday and Sunday matinees at 2 p.m. Tickets are $22 general, $20 for students/seniors and a group rate of 10 or more tickets at $18 each. Faculty concert

Faculty members from the Cal Poly Humboldt Music Department will perform Nov. 22 at 2 p.m. at the Morris Graves Museum of Art, 636 F St., Eureka.

The program will showcase the wide range of talent of the Cal Poly Humboldt Music Department faculty.

The program will include a vast collection of pieces, including a composition for violin and marimba by Michael Colgrass, performed by Cindy Moyer, violin, and MJ Fabian, marimba.

Richard Rios will entertain with two pieces for marimba by Keiko Abe and Richard Gypson. The Vipisa Trio – featuring Cindy Moyer, violin, Ginny Ryder, clarinet, and Simon Oh, piano, will delight the audience with selections from Mozart’s Kegelstatt’s trio.

Also in the program is a piece for two violins and viola by Dvorak where Sherry Hanson, viola, will join Cindy Moyer and Karen Davy.

Audience members will have the opportunity to meet the performers after the concert.

Admission is $5 for adults; $2 for seniors (age 65 and over), military veterans and students with ID; and free for children 17 and under, families with an EBT card and valid ID and Humboldt Arts Council members.
