A third entry in the Orphan franchise has begun filming and is following the naming template set by James Cameron‘s Aliens. Orphan became a surprise hit when it was released in July 2009, grossing $78.8 million worldwide against a $20 million budget. A prequel, Orphan: First Kill, was released exclusively to Paramount+ in August 2022. A sequel was officially announced in November 2024, and now, a year later, cameras have begun rolling.
