Another multi-million dollar Hollywood movie is currently filming in Greater Cincinnati.
A24’s “The Chaperones” was awarded over $2 million in tax credits from Ohio to film in Cincinnati, according to a news release. Jeremy Kleiner, co-president of Plan B Productions, which was co-founded by Brad Pitt, Jennifer Aniston and Brad Grey in 2001, applied for the tax credit in June.
The Enquirer received “The Chaperones” tax credit application from the Ohio Department of Development and can confirm that production for the film is taking place in Cincinnati, Oct. 27 through Nov. 18. The first pre-production date was Sept. 1. Twenty-two of those days are expected to be spent shooting the film.
However, not all filming will take place in Cincinnati, as only 76% of production is expected to occur in the Queen City.
Although the application does not list specific filming locations, it appears some filming might take place in Wyoming, particularly on Burns Avenue, starting Nov. 13, according to letters left at the homes of residents in the Cincinnati suburb.
“The Chaperones,” which has a total budget of $13,909,443, follows three friends who are hired to transport a “troubled teen” across the country just days after Christmas, Deadline reports. The film stars David Jonsson and Cooper Hoffman, who co-starred in the 2025 Stephen King adaptation “The Long Walk,” and Paul Dano, known for his roles in “There Will Be Blood,” “The Fabelmans” and “Dumb Money,” per Variety.
India Donaldson will direct the project, which is based on the screenplay and feature debut written by Sebastian Black, The Hollywood Reporter writes. “The Chaperones” is also being produced by Robert Pattinson’s Icki Eneo Arlo.
After wrapping up in Ohio, the movie is expected to film in New Mexico this fall, the site adds.
