Pop icon Lorde had to pull out of a recent show after revealing she was dealing with some health issues.
On Nov., 9, the 29-year-old pop star was scheduled to perform at the Rockhal in Luxembourg when, just hours before her performance, she took to Instagram to reveal the bad news to fans.
“Luxembourg, I am so sorry to have to tell you that I came down with ruthless food poisoning last night, and I’m still too sick to play for you today,” she wrote, according to the US Sun. “I’ve been resting all day, hoping I’d be well enough, but I can hardly stand up, and you deserve more.”
The “Royals” singer continued her message to fans, expressing her deep regret.
“My sincerest apologies to anyone inconvenienced or upset by this,” reads the message. “I can’t tell you how much I was looking forward to it. Our first-ever Lux show, first night at Ultrasound EU, our one show with OK Lou, it’s beyond gutting.”
According to the concert venue’s website, fans may still be able to see the pop icon, as they are working to reschedule the show; otherwise, tickets will be refunded.
“We are currently working closely with the artist’s team to confirm a new date,” the statement reads. “Please hold on to your tickets, as they will remain valid for the rescheduled show. Further details will follow as soon as possible. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your understanding and patience.”
