Mumbai Police’s Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) has busted a large drug racket allegedly linked to underworld figure Dawood Ibrahim and several Bollywood personalities have emerged during the probe, according to a PTI report.
Names currently under scrutiny include rapper Loka, actor Shraddha Kapoor, socialite Orry, and filmmaker duo Abbas–Mustan. Zeeshan Siddiqui, son of Baba Siddique, who was shot dead in October 2024, has also been mentioned.
The racket is said to have been operated by fugitive trafficker Salim Dola, a Dawood aide who handled the network from Dubai. As per police sources, he supplied mephedrone (also known as M-Cat or Meow Meow) across multiple Indian states and even exported it abroad.
His son, Taher Dola, was extradited from the UAE in August, and he has reportedly provided crucial leads to investigators. An India Today report notes that Taher told authorities that actors, models, rappers, filmmakers and even acquaintances of Dawood attended drug parties he organised both in India and overseas. The remand note states that Taher not only put these events together but also distributed drugs there. The police are now expanding their investigation into the network and everyone connected to it.
“The said accused has previously organised drug parties in the country and abroad with Alisha Parkar, Nora Fatehi, Shraddha Kapoor and her brother Siddharth Kapoor, Zishan Siddiqui, Ori alias Orhan, Abbas Mastaan, Loka and many other people and has himself joined in them and is supplying drugs to these and other people,” media outlets quoted from the remand document.
Interestingly, Shraddha Kapoor portrayed Dawood Ibrahim’s sister Haseena Parkar in a 2017 film directed by Apoorva Lakhia, with her real-life brother Siddharth Kapoor playing Dawood in the same movie.
‘Lavish’ Parties
Mohammed Salim Mohammed Suhail Shaikh, who was deported from Dubai in October, is also being held by the ANC’s Ghatkopar unit. PTI reports that during interrogation, he confessed to hosting drug-fuelled parties in India and abroad.
Shaikh, nicknamed “Lavish” in drug circles because of his extravagant lifestyle, was known for flaunting luxury cars, high-end watches and expensive clothing.
He was first arrested after being deported for his suspected involvement in a ₹252-crore mephedrone haul in Maharashtra’s Sangli district in March 2024. According to police, he was part of a global drug network.
The ANC is now working to identify all those who attended these gatherings and is examining whether other traffickers organised similar events for celebrities. Investigators have not dismissed the possibility of calling in the named celebrities for questioning, PTI added.
