The taping of The Bravos, BravoCon’s biennial awards show, which aired a few days back, came with a shocking turn of events. Andy Cohen, executive producer of the creatively disruptive show Real Housewives, offered the OG housewife, Vicki Gunvalson, her old job back as a full-time housewife at The Real Housewives of Orange County.
While offering her an orange, Cohen asked Vicki, “Vicki, would you join us as a housewife for Season 20?” Gunvalson teared up and replied with a heartfelt “Yes.” Although she accepted the orange, there has been no official confirmation or negotiations yet.
Vicki was one of the first housewives on The Real Housewives of Orange County, which kick-started the entire Real Housewives franchise. She is a successful insurance company owner and a mom of two with an incredibly messy personal life. Gunvalson was a main cast member until Season 13, after which she was demoted to “friends” status in Season 14 and made brief appearance in Season 14, 17, and 18. It will be interesting to see what she brings to the upcoming season.
RHOC, which premiered on Bravo on March 21, 2006, was a widely successful show that changed the landscape of the Bravo-verse. The show expanded into other cities like New York City, Atlanta, Potomac, Beverly Hills, Dubai, Miami, Salt Lake City, and more.
The Real Housewives of Orange County Season 19 is set to conclude on Nov. 20.
