According to oddsmakers, Meghan Markle’s holiday program won’t draw high viewership when it drops on December 3. Darragh Harbinson, spokesperson for Esports Bets, told Daily Express, “The upcoming Christmas special feels like a litmus test for With Love, Meghan, after persistent scrutiny from critics throughout the year. The odds point to a softer audience than previous episodes, at 5/4 for a record low, and there’s a 6/4 chance the show is cancelled in the aftermath if Netflix feels the numbers don’t stack up.”

In the special, Meghan Markle will host celebrities as they cook festive dishes. “Together, friends and family deck the halls, create holiday feasts, craft heartfelt gifts and share lots of laughs — with simple how-tos to follow at home. It’s a holiday wonder with warmth, tradition and a generous dose of joy,” the description of the show reads.

Season 2 of With Love, Meghan failed to gain a wide audience. The latest installment of the series was not included in Luminate‘s Top 50 Streaming Charts for the period between August 22 and 28 and failed to crack Netflix‘s top 10 in the U.K. during its first week on the platform.

Luckily, Meghan Markle has other projects in the works. The Duchess of Sussex joined the cast in the upcoming Amazon Prime comedy Close Personal Friends, where she will star as herself alongside A-listers Lily Collins, Brie Larson and Jack Quaid. “What could cause this engagement to become a reputational crisis is if her acting dramatically pales in comparison to her featured co-stars to the point where it appears they are in two different films,” public relations expert Ryan McCormick told Daily Express.

Despite Ryan McCormick’s warning, the film’s timing could be beneficial for Meghan Markle. “A brief but memorable role could be very positive for Meghan Markle, especially if the film is critically acclaimed,” he said. “October 2025 was the lowest U.S. box office performance in 27 years, so it seems that things can only get better. This timing actually works in Markle’s favor. Studios are experimenting more with casting, and audiences are hungry for fresh narratives. By having a brief appearance, the pressure of delivering success is alleviated on Markle. She has a very strong hand.”
