The hits keep coming for Andrew Mountbatten Windsor, weeks after he was stripped of all his royal titles over his connections to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

The former Duke of York, who is reportedly living largely in isolation at Royal Lodge as he awaits eviction, has now suffered more humiliation, with The Mirror reporting that several plaques in the Falklands bearing his name in honour of his heroic military efforts during the 1982 conflict have been removed.

During his 22-year period of service in the Royal Navy, Andrew had returned home to the UK shrouded in glory after helping defend the islands as a helicopter co-pilot. His mother, the late Queen, famously greeted him in Portsmouth and gifted him a red rose.

He then went back to the Falklands a number of times in the years that followed to unveil memorials and public buildings. Andrew was awarded the Falklands Medal, or South Atlantic medal, for his bravery.

At least three of the tablets bearing his name have been removed since 2022, according to the British publication.

Over the weekend, it was also reported by the UK’s Telegraph that Andrew was kicked out of the exclusive gentleman’s club, The Savage Club, whose previous members included his late father, Prince Philip and several monarchs.

“The General Committee has resolved that, in light of recent public developments, the Honorary Life Membership previously held by The Duke of York has been withdrawn. This decision has been taken solely in the interests of upholding the Club’s established traditions and standards,” read a notice, published by The Telegraph.

Last month, the King decided to strip his brother of his titles and honours and formally evict him from his sprawling Royal Lodge in Windsor amid mounting pressure over his ties to Epstein.

The last time a title was removed was 106 years ago, when the Dukes of Cumberland and Albany were penalised for fighting for Germany in World War One.

The scandal surrounding Andrew reignited last month as a result of a leaked email from the former prince to Epstein, weeks after the date he’d declared they’d cut off all contact with each other. The new leaked email also coincided with the release Virginia Giuffre’s posthumous memoir, Nobody’s Girl, in which she detailed her alleged sexual encounters with Andrew, one of which she claimed happened when she was just 17 years old.

Andrew has always denied any allegations of wrongdoing.

With the release of Ms Giuffre’s posthumous memoir in October, which coincided with the leak of damaging emails from Andrew regarding his ties to convicted sex offender Epstein and the revelation that he had not paid rent on his palatial home in 22 years, the scrutiny reached unprecedented levels.

In an initial statement released in early October via Buckingham Palace, designed to put a stop to the fallout, Andrew offered to give up the “use” of his Duke of York title so as to no longer “distract” from the royal family’s work.

However, the effort fell flat as public outcry grew, prompting the King to go further.

“His Majesty has today initiated a formal process to remove the style, titles and honours of Prince Andrew. Prince Andrew will now be known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor,” read the official statement released via Buckingham Palace.

“His lease on Royal Lodge has, to date, provided him with legal protection to continue in residence.

“Formal notice has now been served to surrender the lease and he will move to alternative private accommodation.

“These censures are deemed necessary, notwithstanding the fact that he continues to deny the allegations against him.

“Their Majesties wish to make clear that their thoughts and utmost sympathies have been, and will remain with, the victims and survivors of any and all forms of abuse.”
