North West and Kim Kardashian are replying to continued critiques of her new piercing.
In September, fans of the Kardashian family discovered that Kardashian’s eldest child has a dermal piercing on her middle finger.
The piercing is also known as a microdermal piercing or single-point piercing. Dermal piercings lie flat against the skin and don’t have a separate entry and exit point, according to Byrdie. Since the discovery, fans have expressed concern for the 12-year-old and criticized the SKIMS founder.
On Nov. 11, a TikTok user, @mazzy_williams, posted a video, with overlay text reading, “north west getting a finger piercing is breaking my heart just me?”
The TikTok user captioned the video, “what is going on #northwest #kardashians.”
On Nov. 13, the TikTok account for North and Kim replied, “it’s okay 🫶.”

Several other TikTok users came to North’s defense and replied to the video, saying, “how does it affect you like actually.”
Another added, “She wanted the piercing and Kim let her pls stop Kim’s just trying to let her kids express themselves.”
Others agreed with the TikTok user. “no i completely agree idk why people act like you can’t have an opinion lmao,” one person wrote.
Despite the backlash, the mom of four has defended her daughter and her decisions, noting that the tween is following her own path when it comes to fashion and beauty.
During Kardashian’s Oct. 15 appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast, she celebrated how “mature” North is when it comes to public criticism.
“She’ll be like, ‘Mom, I saw this and I don’t really care that they don’t like… my blue hair or this or that,” said Kardashian, adding, “She’s really confident…”

Kardashian, who shares North, Saint, 9, Chicago, 7, and Psalm, 6, with ex-husband Kanye West, also opened up about the difficulties of navigating being a parent to a preteen. The Kardashians star admitted that she has made some mistakes and asked for a “little bit of grace.”
“I’m like, okay, we’re never wearing that again. Unfortunately, we made that mistake in front of the whole world,” Kardashian said. “As a mom, you’re kind of like learning at the same time.”
